Introduction

In this documentation paper, first the history and main commentaries of XingQiMing (the ancient jade artifact with the inscription of circulating qi) from previous literators will be introduced ; then some novel descants about this document will be addressed . Based on the documented facts of contemporary resources and workable technology of Chinese medicine , we proposed that the contents of XingQiMing just pointed out the skills of Chinese medicine and acupuncture , which were common and operable for doctors of traditional acupuncture , and was unrelated to dantao、martial art、breathing therapy and the fangshu of sex .

Furthermore, the correlations between XingQiMing and other Chinese medicine classic , such as Huangdi Neijing or Huangdi Waijing , were also discussed . We believe that these arguments would be helpful in recovering the historical position of XingQiMing , and moreover to discover the actual image the author of XingQiMing would like to present .
